my top 10 funniest movies ever. Now, not only is The Five-Year Engagement my number one on the list of funniest movies ever, but its also number one on my favorite movies ever! Emily Blunt is a great actress and I admire her even more after seeing this, but the actress who I actually really loved and surprised me was Alison Brie. What an amazing English accent she pulled off. Jason Segel was also great, as usual. Every single joke in the movie is unique and ultimately hilarious. You couldn't even tell which scenes were improvised and which scenes were scripted. Another great quality in the movie is the seriousness. I love comedies but they can't be too silly. They have too not only make you laugh, but also care for the characters because if you don't care for the characters in a movie, you don't really care for the movie. The Five-Year Engagement is raunchy, hilarious, sad, romantic and just pure incredible. I'm seeing it again this weekend and I'm also buying it on DVD to add to my collection. A true classic.

and there are also some simple twists in there that keep the plot rolling. All in all, the movie is fun, will make you laugh, and is probably worth seeing.

movie is so long that by the end it all comes together and warms your soul. if you've ever had to move away because of some girl, you should see this, very relatable comedy, that's all.

its "About Last night" comparison from the 80's...Its fresh and definitely worth the watch...albeit, it is a little longer than I would have liked, it was funny.

to drag at some points and several scenes could have been edited down a wee bit. Don't need to see something for 30 seconds or 2 minutes when the point is made and understood in considerably less time.I don't see any academy nods for this one nor would I have expected any for this genre of movie but it was an enjoyable movie for an evening.My wife and son were there and enjoyed it as well.

that kept both of us laughing and entertained throughout the entire movie. I thought all roles were well developed and that all actors had chemistry and interacted well together. On our drive home from the theater, my husband and I laughed the whole way home as we remembered and recounted funny parts of the movie... something that is is unusual for us to carry on so long about a movie ... and we see a lot of movies. The Five Year Engagement reminded me a lot of Bridesmaids... similar rhythm, humor, and style. I thought it was great!

You meet a girl, you get to know her, you propose, every place is busy, you delay for a little while, she gets a psychology gig in Michigan, you temporarily leave your successful job to be with her for a couple years, you find another job, you make new friends, she makes new friends, a couple of years becomes another couple of years, you take up hunting, you decorate the house with the spoils of your hunting trips, you grow a bizarre beard, you spiral into discontent, she tries to help, you decide to get married no matter what, you settle on anything if it means you two will be married sooner, you find out she kissed her boss, you chase her boss down, turns out he knows parkour, you get your throat punched, you find a co-worker and she gets freaky on you, you wander drunk into the woods with no clothes on, you wake up the next morning with frostbite on your toe, she still cares about you, you care about her, she wants to stay, you can't stand it another minute, you argue, she argues, you go your separate ways.That's about all I'll say I'll leave some for people to see , but you get the general idea. This is a movie that's genuinely heartwarming and realistic for anyone who knows the ups and downs of love. They do throw a few bits of comedy in every once in a while, but never anything too unrealistic to take you out of things.One thing I must note is that I watch a lot of movies, but I knew none of the actors in this movie outside of Segel and Blunt. They have a very diverse and fun group of characters, and it really helps make everything feel more like the real world.This is a movie for people who like going to see movies because they think they might just find something they can relate to.
